Mexican Tax and Real Estate Laws for Americans Living in Mexico

The following is a compilation of income tax and real estate law information for U.S. Citizens and American expatriates making their residence in Mexico. There are over 3 million "gringos" living in Mexico who must comply with Mexican income tax law as well as U.S. tax law.  Living outside the U.S. DOES NOT eliminate your obligation to file a U.S. tax return each year on your worldwide income. Mexican tax law also provides that if you make Mexico your home, you must report your worldwide income each year on your Mexican income tax returns filed with the "Hacienda" which is the same as the U.S. IRS.  Email us with questions
